Privacy Policy

Lowkey Solver ("the App", "we", "us", "our") is a mobile application that helps users solve math problems using AI. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

1. Who we are

Lowkey Solver is operated by an independent developer ("the Developer"). For privacy questions, contact ahmedhaddajiahmed@gmail.com.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information (via Huawei ID)

We use Huawei Account Kit (Huawei ID) as the only way to create or access an account. When you sign in, your device sends us a signed identity token (ID token) from which we read your:

• Huawei account ID (a stable opaque identifier — OpenID/UnionID);
• email address, only if you grant email permission at sign-in (it is optional);
• display name;
• profile picture URL;
• locale.

We do not receive your Huawei ID password. We verify the token against Huawei's public keys before creating your account.

2.2 Content you submit

To solve a problem you may submit one of the following:

• typed math text or LaTeX;
• a photo taken in-app;
• a file uploaded from your device.

Photos and uploaded files are stored on our cloud storage provider (Backblaze B2) and on our database (MongoDB). The same image is sent to Google's Gemini API for OCR and solving. Typed text problems are sent to Gemini but are not stored as files.

2.3 Usage data

We track a per-user, per-day solve counter to enforce the free-tier daily limit. We log basic technical information for security and debugging — IP address, request timestamp, error traces. We do not sell or build advertising profiles from these logs.

2.4 Subscription data

If you purchase a subscription through Huawei In-App Purchases (IAP), your device sends us a purchase token and product identifier so we can verify your purchase with Huawei and unlock paid features. Payment card details are handled entirely by Huawei — we never see them.

3. How we use your information

• to authenticate you and keep you signed in;
• to deliver step-by-step solutions to your math problems;
• to enforce free-tier daily limits;
• to verify and grant subscription entitlements;
• to investigate bugs, abuse, and security incidents;
• to comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your content to train AI models. We do not sell your personal data to anyone.

4. Who we share your information with

We share data only with service providers that make the App work, and only what is needed for them to do their job:

• Google (Gemini API) — receives your problem text and any uploaded image to generate a solution. Subject to Google Generative AI Terms.
• Huawei (Account Kit + In-App Purchases) — handles sign-in authentication and subscription payments. Subject to the Huawei Privacy Statement.
• Backblaze B2 — stores uploaded images.
• MongoDB Atlas — stores account, solution, and usage records.
• Vercel — hosts the App's backend API.

We may also disclose information when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of users or the Developer.

5. Data retention

• Account data — kept while your account is active.
• Solutions and uploaded images — kept while your account is active. Free-tier images may be deleted after 90 days.
• Logs — kept for up to 30 days for security and debugging, then deleted.

When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where a law requires us to keep it longer.

6. Your rights

You have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate data;
• delete your account and associated data;
• export a copy of your data;
• object to or restrict processing, where applicable under the GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws.

7. Children

Lowkey Solver is intended for users aged 13 and over (16 in the EEA and UK). We do not knowingly collect data from children below those ages. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete the data.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures: HTTPS in transit, encryption at rest on managed databases and storage, scoped service credentials, and JWT-based session tokens stored on-device in OS-protected storage. No system is perfectly secure — if you suspect your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

9. International transfers

Our service providers operate globally, including in the United States. By using the App, you understand that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date at the top and, for material changes, notify you in the App or by email.
